A visitor may ride the service for up to 21 days in a year, starting with the first day of travel. To continue to ride after 21 days of service are provided, you must apply for eligibility with EZ-Rider.

Midland Odessa Urban Transit District (EZ-Rider) Demand Response Paratransit Service

EZ-Rider provide assistance to riders who are new to the transit/paratransit system. We provide individual, hands-on help with becoming familiar with the system and planning trips. Call (432) 561-9990 x116 to schedule an appointment.

In addition to the fixed-route service, EZ-Rider also provides ADA complementary paratransit service. This is origin to destination service for persons with disabilities who cannot use the regular bus service for one or more of the eligibility criteria. Individuals who wish to be considered for this service will need to complete an application, have the information verified by a medical professional, and be certified by us as paratransit eligible.

As part of the certification process, we will schedule the individual for a functional assessment with a licensed occupational therapist to determine the person’s ability, if any, to use the fixed-route system for certain trips. Individuals who are approved for paratransit service will be notified in writing. Reservations must be made the day before the requested trip(s).

The cost for this service is $2.50 for each one-way trip within 3/4 of a mile of a fixed route; the cost for service for each one-way trip outside of 3/4 of a mile of a fixed route is $5.00. Special orange colored trip tickets may be purchased in advance at any of our service outlets (for location info, click FARES). One ticket will be used for each trip within 3/4 of a mile of a fixed route or it will take two tickets per trip outside of 3/4 of a mile of a fixed route.

The bus driver will assist as appropriate and necessary an individual to get on or off the bus at the curb. Curb-to-curb service is our basic paratransit service mode, however, provisions are available to ensure that the service available to each passenger actually gets the passenger from his or her point of origin to his or her destination point.  To meet this origin to destination need, service may be provided to some individuals, or at some locations, in a way that goes beyond curb-to-curb service. Persons who are certified for our ADA complementary service may ride the fixed-route buses free with their EZ RIDER identification card. For more information on our paratransit program, or to request an application, please call us at (432) 561-9990.
