BUS OPERATOR:


We are always accepting applications for Bus Operators.  New bus operators begin a 30 day training period, with the opportunity to advance to a full-time position with vision, dental, health, 401K, 7 Paid holidays, and paid vacation benefits.


Candidates shall be friendly and professional; punctual and dependable; flexible and able to work various shifts; and have an excellent driving record. 


Candidates shall possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements, or be able to obtain such within 60 days of the date of hire.  EZ-Rider will provide all training needed to obtain your CDL as well as training for customer service, passenger care, safety & security, care for passengers with Disabilities, system routes, and all other areas that are incident of the position of Bus Operator.


Operators are needed for positions available in Para-Transit buses, typically smaller Van-Cutaway type Buses with a capacity of 8 to 10 persons providing EZ-Rider's origin to destination pick up service.  Positions are also available for Fixed Route Bus Operators in our larger Transit bus fleet that provides fixed route service to persons in the urbanized areas of Midland and Odessa Texas.


Candidates must successfully complete a background investigation, DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen, and a job specific physical assessment test performed at a certified facility.  Bus operators are also subject to random drug & alcohol testing.

BUS SERVICES:


Bus Services perform fueling duties and check lubricants and fluids daily on our fleet of 19 Transit buses, 8 Cutaway buses, and 13 support vehicles.  Candidates shall be capable of sweeping, mopping, cleaning interior components of the passenger compartment and driver area, provide minor bus maintenance as needed and work weekday evenings, as well as Saturday evenings. 


Physical activity of the successful applicant includes, but not limited to: lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, stooping to clean, refuel and check lubricant levels on a vehicle and in the engine area; hearing to detect engine noises; reaching below the waist, waist to shoulder and above the shoulder to clean vehicle areas and windows.


Performs all other duties as assigned by management.  


Education preferred: High school diploma or G.E.D. Successful applicants are required to pass a police background investigation, DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen; and are subject to random drug and alcohol testing. Must have clean driving record; Class B C.D.L. with Passenger endorsement or ability to obtain such within three weeks of date of hire is preferred.

MECHANICS:


EZ-Rider is currently seeking applications for the position of Class "B' Mechanic. Mechanics perform preventative maintenance service and repair service to our fleet of 19 Transit buses, 8 Cutaway buses, and 13 support vehicles.  Candidates for Mechanic must have the ability to work independently to perform the necessary repairs and PM tasks required on large diesel type engines and transit equipment as well as smaller vehicles and gasoline type engines used in various other equipment. Knowledge is required in the areas of diesel engine troubleshooting and repair, air brake systems, transmission service, suspension and steering systems, and basic electrical system troubleshooting and repair.  Knowledge is preferred in the areas of, Bus Air conditioning, multiplex electronics, security and video systems, electronic revenue collection system service and repair, and electronic sign and voice equipment service and repair. Candidates should have basic computer skills, and the ability to read, write, and follow verbal instructions. Mechanics are required to provide their own regular tools. Mechanics are required to perform all duties that are incident working in a vehicle repair and maintenance shop environment while maintaining a high quality of work performance output and the ability to maintain a safe working environment at all times. Candidates must be willing to work all shifts, Monday through Friday, and rotating Saturdays.

Education preferred: Associates degree with formal Diesel Technician training, High school diploma or G.E.D. Successful completion of police background investigation, DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen are required of all applicants and are subject to random drug and alcohol testing. A C.D.L. "B" with air brake endorsement are preferred, as well as a clean driving record.

PARTS CLERK / INVENTORY SPECIALIST:


Primary duties are to order, monitor and maintain inventory of all parts, fuel, and equipment (other than Mechanic’s personal equipment), and input all work orders, purchase orders and fuel usage daily.


General duties include: Data Entry into Maintenance Information Systems, Fuel log data entry, invoice and purchase order preparations and reconciliation for submittal to finance, generating reports, record keeping, filing, assistance with parts orders, inventory, parts distribution, assist with shipping and receiving activities, parts pick-up and delivery.
