PRESS RELEASE
EZ-Rider Partners with Verizon Business to Enhance Transit Communications with Advanced Push-to-Talk Technology
Midland-Odessa, Texas – July 6, 2026 – EZ-Rider is pleased to announce a new partnership with Verizon Business, strengthening the agency’s communications infrastructure with the deployment of advanced push-to-talk radio technology across its transit operations.
In June, EZ-Rider equipped its fleet of revenue vehicles with Siyata SD7 radios and Siyata VK7 vehicle kits, providing operators with reliable, easy-to-use communications tools designed specifically for demanding transportation environments. Built with a rugged design ideal for transit operations, the radios offer enhanced functionality that helps improve safety and efficiency for drivers in the field.
One standout feature of the SD7 radios is the audio channel announcement capability, which notifies operators of channel changes audibly. This feature allows drivers to keep their attention focused on the road rather than looking at their radios, supporting safer vehicle operation while maintaining seamless communication.
In addition to vehicle installations, EZ-Rider outfitted supervisory personnel with Siyata handheld radios and hand microphones, enabling staff to effectively support transit operations throughout the service area. Dispatch consoles installed at base stations further strengthen communication by keeping bus operators connected with operations staff and allowing critical information to be exchanged quickly and reliably.
The partnership underscores EZ-Rider’s ongoing commitment to leveraging innovative technology that enhances operational effectiveness, employee safety, and customer service. By combining durable Siyata communications equipment with Verizon Business’s reliable push-to-talk network, EZ-Rider is better equipped to support transit operations and maintain strong connectivity between drivers, supervisors, and dispatch personnel.
