We placed our new buses in service for the first time on Monday, August 7. We're happy to see a lot of new passengers who are coming out just to ride them! We will rotate the new buses on all the routes in both cities for several weeks to showcase them, before they settle in on our busiest routes. In Midland, the most heavily used routes are Routes 1 & 2, and in Odessa, they are Routes 2 & 5. The new buses have electronic fareboxes, which act much like vending machines. Be sure to unfold your dollar bills and feed them flat into the special horizontal slot. Coins should be dropped a few at a time into the vertical slot at the front of the farebox. The bus operator will help you if you are unsure what to do. In time, when we have more of our buses outfitted with these fareboxes, we will be able to issue different denominations of passes, as well as transfers, right from the farebox.
